Mum always said that as a child they did not have a lot but she never went without. She loved her animals and told me that her dog,Toby was like her baby/playmate,her siblings being older than her she would dress him up and push him around in her dolls pram. My nan,her mum told me that she was always a good girl,mum adored her mum and dad,although I think her closest relationship was with her sister joyce. Mum loved to climb and have fun.She did not need a lot to make her happy. Mum said that she used to sit on the pub steps drinking pop while her mum and dad had a drink inside,this would be frowned upon today but mum seemed to enjoy that. Her love of Christmas was passed down to her from my nan, she always made it special even with little money. She had lots of freinds even then. From a little girl mum had something wrong with the back of her knees and had to have them straightened somehow,this did not seem to get in her way of enjoying being a kid, she was happy with her lot.
